An external coach or supervisor can add their digital signature on a PebblePocket template to provide verification of your skills, abilities or competencies.
What is a digital signature?
A digital signature replicates a traditional handwritten signature and is typically used where a coach or supervisor needs to give validation or confirmation.
The person signing:
- does not need to have a PebblePad account
- must be physically located in the same place as the learner
- must sign 'in the moment' and not at a later date or time.
The learner should always be logged in to PebblePocket and never the person signing.
Sign a page
A template should be fully completed before it is signed. When ready, hand the device for the person to sign. Depending on the template's settings, the signee will need to provide their:
- Signature only
- Signature & full name
- Signature, full name & email
Where an email address is provided, the person signing will be sent an email confirmation.
Read the external's guide to verifying with a digital signature.
After signing
When a template has been signed and saved, depending on the template's settings, one of the following occurs:
Flagged changes
Further changes after signing can be made, but a warning banner alerts the contents are different since verification.
Clear signature
Further changes after signing can be made, but the signature is deleted, and the asset will need to be resigned.
Locked asset
Further changes after signing are not possible, and the page will fully lock. It can be opened to read only.
