The properties panel controls how a template is accessed and completed. It's used to control usage, enable mapping, cascade tags and change block settings.

Template usage
Set how many asset responses each person can create from the template.
The template can only be used to create one asset response. Attempts to create additional asset responses will see the user redirected to their existing saved asset in the Asset Store.
Optionally, tick Add to task list to indicate to the Learner this template must be completed.
Useful when: only one response is required or permitted.
The template can have a specified number of asset responses created by each user. When reusing, the learner is prompted to:
- Continue working on an existing response (open the asset)
- Create a new response
When the total response limit is reached, the Learner is redirected to open an existing asset only.
Useful when: a specified number of responses are required or permitted.
The template can have an unlimited number of asset responses created.
Useful when: the number of responses is unknown or unrestricted.
Mapping
Enable the template to have assets mapped. It must:
- contain one or more capability blocks on the page.
- be set to single use only.
A template with mapping enabled cannot itself then be mapped.
Cascade tag
A cascading tag passes any resource tags and retains them with any asset responses.
Read more about tagging an asset.
