Hint blocks present instructional guidance with text, image, video, audio and embedded external content. Adjust the properties to control how they are viewed.
Text area
A text area lets you add read-only text to a page to explain and guide the reader. The text has full formatting capabilities, with headings, colours, lists and links, with additional formatting options available in the 3-dot menu.
Image
An image block can contain a photo or graphic to explain or guide the user.
Caption rollover
Where a caption is added, choose to show it when the cursor hovers over the block.
On clicking image
Determine what happens when a learner clicks the image:
- Open image in new tab - to see larger version
- Link to website
- Open asset in new tab - choose an asset from your store
- Open asset in current tab - choose an asset from your store
- Do nothing - image isn't clickable
Video
A video block can contain an informative video to explain or guide the user.

Determine how the video plays:
- Auto play video - starts when page loads without pressing play
- Loop video - returns to the start and continuously repeats

Embed hint
The embed block lets the resource builder embed content from the selection of supported services - including video and audio from external platforms - to present to the user.

Horizontal line
The simple horizontal line can be added between blocks as a visual indicator to help define page sections.
