Manage feedback statements

A workspace manager can create and edit the pre-written sentences and paragraphs used by assessors with feedback comments in the submission viewer sidebar.

To access:

  1. Within the workspace, click Management.
  2. Click Feedback from the sub menu.
  3. Click Feedback statements from the page tabs.

At minimum, you will need to be a workspace manager with lead tutor permissions.

Create a statement collection

A statement collection typically covers one topic or area, e.g. language and style, with a series of statements to cover the range of possible phrases; e.g. excellent to poor.

Multiple collections can be added, to cover a series of topics or areas.

To create:

  1. Click Create collection.
  2. Type a title into the field.
  3. Write a statement into the required text areas.
  4. Click Add another statement if more are required.
  5. Click Save.

If fewer statements are needed, leave these text areas blank. They will be removed when saved.

Read the assessor's guide to adding feedback.

Save a statement collection

A feedback statement collection can be saved to your individual account. You do not have to be the original creator of the collection to save it to your profile.

To save:

  1. Click the File icon in the collection's header.
  2. Keep or amend the collection title.
  3. Click Save.

Reuse a statement collection

Once saved to your profile, the collection can be reused by you on any workspace where you are enrolled as a manager.

To reuse:

  1. Return to a workspace's Management > Feedback statement tab.
  2. Click Reuse a collection.
  3. Find the collection and click Select item.
  4. The collection is added to the workspace.

Edit a statement collection

Any individual statement, or overall collection, can be edited after it has been created.

To edit:

  1. Click the Pencil icon in the collection's header.
  2. Make amendments to existing statements, or,
  3. Click Create statement (top of page) to add another.
  4. Click Save.

Edits impact future uses of statements only, and will not update existing instances.

Delete a statement collection

If a collection is no longer required for a workspace, it can be removed.

Save the collection to your profile before deleting to retain the option to reuse it on another workspace.

To delete:

  1. Click the Bin icon in the collection's header.
  2. Read the warning statement and click OK.

An individual statement can be removed by editing the collection, and clicking the bin icon of the statement.

Deleting a collection or statement will not delete existing instances where used in a feedback comment.
