A structured resource can be used as a one page template, or a page within a workbook. It's built by adding content blocks and arranging in the desired order.
Open template builder
All users with access to Pebble+ can create an unlimited number of templates. By building it, you are the template owner.
To create:
- From the burger menu, choose Get creative> Create a template.
- With the builder open, click Save.
- Choose a template type from the dropdown menu.
- Type a title for the template and click Confirm
- The page is saved to your Resource Store.
Save as... block
When building a one page template, the Save as... block appears by default. This cannot be removed and must be present - although not necessarily at the top of the page, and the title can be renamed if required.
By default, the user will complete this field to save the template with a title of their choice. However, you can preset a non-editable title so every response created uses this same name.
To set:
- Click the template's properties button
- In the sidebar, tick Use a non-editable title
- Type a title into the block field
When building a new template within a workbook, the Save as... block is hidden. All asset responses for workbooks adopt the resource title.
Add a block
A template is built by adding blocks to the page. They are aligned and organised in the required order, and an unlimited number of blocks can be included.
To add:
- Click Add Content to reveal the block choices.
- Click, hold and drag the tile to position a block on a page.
- Release the mouse button to confirm the location.
The thick blue bar confirms the position where the block will be located.
Reorder blocks
Blocks added to a page can be reordered in two ways:
To reorder:
- Click the up and down arrows on a block to move a block one position at a time. Or,
- Click, hold, and drag your mouse to move a block into position.
Align blocks side-by-side
For hint blocks only, two blocks can be aligned next to each other.
To align:
- Click and hold the block from the top menu.
- Drag to the side of an existing block (left or right).
- A thick blue bar indicates where the block will be added.
- Release the mouse button to confirm the location.
When in position, by default each block will be the same width. This is adjustable, and one block can be made bigger than the other.
To adjust:
- Click the block once - a blue border will show it is highlighted
- Click and hold in the corner of the block
- Drag your mouse left or right to adjust the block's size.
- Release the mouse button to confirm the new size.
A maximum of two blocks can be aligned side by side.
Adjust properties
The properties for the overall template, and each individual block, control its appearance and function.
To change:
- Click Properties to open the sidebar.
- Click the block once. A blue border will confirm it is highlighted to show the block's properties.
- Click the menu tabto switch between the property levels.
