Release and recall feedback

The various forms of assessment; feedback, grades, comments, approvals, can be managed individually or collectively to hold, release and recall from learners.

Feedback status

Feedback added to a submission by an assessor can have one of two statuses:

  • Unreleased - only visible to assessors viewing via ATLAS.
  • Released - also visible to learners viewing via Pebble+.

Released feedback cannot be edited or deleted, but it can be recalled - returning it to an unreleased state. While unreleased, the feedback can be edited or deleted.

The workspace manager controls if an assessor can release and recall feedback in a workspace.

Manage by block

Feedback can be added on a page at a block level for:

These can be held and released individually, block by block, when saved by choosing:

  • Save & Hold
  • Save & Release

If held, the feedback can be released later by:

  1. Click the 3 dot menu on the feedback post
  2. Click Release feedback.

Manage by page

Where a page contains one or more assessor fields, you can collectively save all changes made in one action. This will place all feedback on the page in the same state - either unreleased or released.

To save:

  1. Complete multiple assessor fields on the page without saving.
  2. Click the Assessor field actions button at the top of the page.
  3. Choose Save & Hold/Release

Changes made to a page must be saved before moving to another page.

Manage by submission

All feedback added to a submission, including all blocks and all pages, can be managed in one action. This can also be done for one, a group, or all submissions in an assignment.

The submission list gives a summary of which submissions contain unreleased assessment yet to be visible to learners.

To manage:

  1. Go to the workspace submission list.
  2. Choose the assignment from the list (if multiple are enabled)
  3. Tick one, several or all submissions to manage.
  4. Click the Manage feedback button.
  5. Choose Release feedback to the authors and click Continue
  6. Tick the feedback types to release
  7. Click Release feedback.
