A resource can be edited by its owner to modify the structure. As a link is permanently retained to all asset responses, changes should be made with caution.
Edit a resource
To edit a resource, you must be its owner, having used the template builder or workbook builder, or co-owner by being given collaborator permissions when the resource was shared with you.
To edit:
- From the Resource Store, click the resource's title
- Choose Edit resource
- The resource will open in build view.
- Click Save once changes are made.
You can also become an owner by copying a resource (where share permissions allow).
Edit a live resource
A resource is considered live when asset responses have been created from it. As the resource has a permanent link to all its asset responses, editing a live resource should be done with extreme caution.
When opening a live resource to edit it, a warning modal will display. You must confirm you understand the impact making changes will have.
The warning does not show if the only asset responses are by the resource owner.
Removing an item
Removing the following from a resource will immediately delete all corresponding learner data from all its asset responses.
- a field choice (radio, checklist, dropdown)
- a block (whole)
- a page (whole)
To not impact existing asset responses, make a copy of the resource.
Modifying an item
An overview of actions and outcomes to help avoid lost data.
- Reorder a radio, check or dropdown option within a list
- Delete a radio, check or dropdown list option, and re-add it (even if the wording is the same)
Existing learner responses will be lost, or corrupted.
- Add a new page to a workbook
- Add a new block to a page
- Reorder blocks on a page
- Change/amend titles and hint text of any block
- Add an option to the bottom/end of a radio, check or dropdown list
