A resource can be edited to modify the content or structure. As a link is permanently retained to all asset responses, changes should be made with caution.
Edit a resource
To edit a resource template or workbook, you must be the owner, or co-owner.
To edit:
- From the Resource Store, click the resource's title
- Choose Edit resource
- The resource will open in build view.
- Click Save once changes are made.
You can also become an owner by copying a resource (where share permissions allow).
Edit a live resource
A resource is considered live when asset responses have been created from it. As the resource has a permanent link to all its asset responses, editing a live resource should be done with caution.
When opening a live resource to edit it, a warning modal will display. You must confirm you understand the impact making changes will have.
The warning does not show if the only asset responses are by the resource owner.
Removing an item
Removing any of the following from a resource will immediately delete all the corresponding learner data from that item in all the linked asset responses:
- an option (within a radio list, checklist, dropdown list, or rubric)
- a table row or column
- a whole block
- a whole page
To avoid impacting existing asset responses, make a copy of the resource.
Modifying an item
Modifying a resource can impact the corresponding learner data for that item in the linked asset responses.
- Reordering a radio, check or dropdown option within a list.
Responses are linked to the option's position in a list (e.g. second option), not the option label. - Deleting a radio, check or dropdown list option.
Responses for this option (only) will be deleted from the list and will not be restored if the same option is re-added at a later date.
- Adding a new page to a workbook
- Reordering pages within a workbook
- Adding a new block to a page
- Reordering blocks on a page
- Changing or amending titles and hint text of any block
- Adding another option to the bottom/end of a radio, check or dropdown list
In addition, modifying the resource properties will impact the linked asset responses.
