A digital signature uses a finger or mouse cursor to sign on-screen, replacing a traditional pen on paper version. An assessor account is not needed to verify.
Prepare to sign
There are two ways to verify an asset with a digital signature:
- PebblePocket - via the phone app
- Pebble+ - via a web browser
The learner should:
- Log in to their PebblePad account
- Open the template and complete.
- Hand you their device.
The verifier should:
- Check the learner has completed the template correctly.
- Add any additional assessor information (if required).
The learner must always be logged into their account. The assessor verifies with their signature - no account or login is required.
Sign to verify
The signature block will request one of these possibilities when verifying:
- Signature only
- Signature and name
- Signature, name and email address
Where email is used, a digest notification is sent to confirm the address has been used for verification.
To sign:
- Click or tap the Add Signature button
- Sign within the box with finger or mouse cursor
- Type name and email (if required)
- Click or tap Confirm signature
Once a template has been signed, you can hand the device back to the learner.
The resource builder sets the digital signature properties to determine the information needed when verifying.
After signing
To ensure the information remains unchanged, and your verification true, the template will have one of these security levels enabled:
- Low - a warning banner will flag to indicate changes have occurred after signing
- Medium - if altered, the signature will self-delete and will need to be re-verified
- High - the template is completely locked and no changes can be made to it
The resource builder sets the digital signature properties to determine the template behaviour after verification.
