Two types of external account are available to support individuals or teams to provide assessment and feedback when accessing learners' submissions via ATLAS.
Personal account
A personal account is issued to an individual external user and used when:
- Assessment occurs within ATLAS, and not exclusively via a digital signature.
- The person has an individual email addresses
To request:
- Provide your full name and (work) email address to the institution.
- Check your inbox for the A new account has been created email.
- Click the link in the email.
- Set a password for your account.
- Log in to view your External dashboard.
The individual is responsible for the account and should not share the login credentials. Using it to verify provides a robust and secure authorisation process.
The institution should provide you with the contact information to request an account. This is not available from the PebblePad Support team.
Centre-based account
A centre-based account is provided to a department or team of people and used when:
- Assessment occurs within ATLAS, and not exclusively via a digital signature.
- The learner may work closely with a team of externals
- One external gives one-off or infrequent assessment
- Externals don't have individual email addresses
To request:
- Provide your full name, a centre name and email address to the institution.
- Check the inbox for the A new account has been created email.
- Click the link in the email.
- Set a password for the account.
- Log in to view your External dashboard.
A team leader is typically responsible for owning the account. They should only share the login credentials with authorised team members, and reset the password periodically to maintain confidentiality and security.
When used to give assessment in ATLAS, it is the account's shared name that is recorded, not the name of the individual using the account.
