Manage feedback settings

The workspace feedback settings control how assessment and feedback is managed by assessors, and which feedback options are enabled in Submission Viewer to use.

To access:

  1. Within the workspace, click Management.
  2. Click Feedback from the sub menu.
  3. Click Feedback settings from the page tabs.

At minimum, you will need to be a workspace manager with lead tutor permissions.

Release of feedback

Choose how an assessor can manage feedback on a submission.

  • Release immediate - any feedback saved will be made visible to the learner
  • Cannot release - all saved feedback will be held, to be released by a lead tutor later.
  • Can decide - the assessor can choose to release or hold.

The settings allow for different options depending upon the status of the assignment:

  • Play - new submissions still accepted, or submitted assets can be modified.
  • Pause / deadline - no new submissions accepted, and submitted assets are frozen.

Read the assessor's guide to assignment controls.

Recall feedback

Once feedback is released to a learner, you can control if it can be recalled by an assessor.

  • Yes - only a lead tutor with Manage feedback permissions can recall.
  • No - any assessor can recall their own feedback

Read the assessor's guide to managing feedback.

Enable feedback comments

Control the use of feedback comments in the submission viewer feedback sidebar.

  • Yes - feedback comments are enabled
  • No - feedback comments are disabled

Disabling feedback comments will also disable feedback statements and feedback templates.
Read the assessor's guide to adding feedback.

Enable block level feedback

Control the use of block-level feedback in the submission viewer.

  • Yes - block feedback is enabled
  • No - block feedback is disabled

Read the assessor's guide to adding feedback.

Enable anonymous peer feedback

When learners give feedback on a peer's submission, control if the feedback comment includes the name of the learner giving feedback.

  • Yes - the feedback author is anonymised
  • No - the feedback author is visible

Learner feedback will remain visible for lead tutors at all times.
Read the assessor's guide to anonymous assessment.

Enable anonymous assessor feedback

When feedback is released to a learner, control if the feedback given contains the name of the assessor, or if they are anonymised.

  • Yes - the assessor is anonymised
  • No - the assessor is visible

To anonymise assessor feedback to other assessors, untick View assessor details on their manager permissions.
Read the assessor's guide to anonymous assessment.

Enable feedback instructions

When an assessor views a submission in submission viewer, control if the sidebar displays helpful instructions as guidance. Where shown, it will be visible to all managers and externals.

  • Yes - type the instructions in the text area
  • No - instructions are not displayed.
