The identity of a learner, an assessor, or both can be withheld from a submission to allow assessment and feedback to happen anonymously when this is required.
Anonymous learner
By default, a learner's name is shown as the author of a submission. When anonymity is enabled, their name is replaced with a randomised code to hide their identity.
An assessor can open, review and feedback in all the usual ways, but will not know the learner's name.
A workspace manager will control a workspace's settings to anonymise a learner.
Anonymous assessor
An assessor's identity can be withheld in two ways:
Anonymous to learner
The name of any assessor giving assessment on a submission will be withheld from the learner when the feedback is released.
Anonymous to second marker
A second assessor providing feedback on a submission will be able to see what the first assessor's contribution, but their identity is withheld.
A first marker's assessment can also be hidden entirely for blind second marking.
