Create a PebblePad assignment in Brightspace

The workspace manager can set-up an ATLAS assignment to integrate with a Brightspace course and provide learners access to Pebble+ tools and templates to use.

About PebblePad and Brightspace

When a PebblePad assignment is incorporated into a Brightspace course, it provides:

When the two platforms are connected at a local level, Brightspace course to ATLAS workspace, it sets-up:

In all cases, when clicked by an Instructor (assessor/manager) in Brightspace, it:

  • Opens ATLAS into the workspace.

At minimum, you will need to be a region creator to set-up a Brightspace-linked assignment. Contact your platform administrator for assistance.

Add a PebblePad assignment to Brightspace

Adding the first PebblePad assignment link in Brightspace will set up both:

  • course-to-workspace connection,
  • assignment-to-assignment connection

To add:

  1. In the Brightspace course, select Content and into the required page
  2. In a section, click Existing Activities and choose External Learning Tools.
  3. From the modal, choose PebblePad assignment.
  4. Click Bulk edit.
  5. Type a title, add a description and click Update.
  6. Click Done editing.
  7. Click the assignment title to open the ATLAS wizard.
  8. Choose Active mode from the options.
  9. Click Finish to set-up the workspace.
  10. Complete the assignment settings and click Save.
  11. Close the browser tab to return to Brightspace.

Assignment dates set within Brightspace will not synchronise into the ATLAS workspace.
Read the assessor's guide to using a Brightspace-linked assignment.

Add a resource to assignment link

A custom template or custom workbook can be associated to the assignment link, directing a learner straight to it when Pebble+ is opened. This can also be set to auto-submit.

Alternatively, for a lite-touch option without workspace synchronisation, create a PebblePad resource link with Brightspace.

To add:

  1. Click the assignment link in Brightspace to open the ATLAS workspace.
  2. Click the Resources tab.
  3. Click the folder icon to add a resource.
  4. Search for the resource and click Select item.
  5. (Optional) In the auto-submit panel, choose Yes and select the correct assignment.
  6. In the panel, Destination for VLE/LMS link, choose Yes and select the correct assignment
  7. Tick the confirmation and click Continue.

Read the guide to managing a workspace resource page.

Add multiple assignments

Additional PebblePad assignments can be linked from the same Brightspace course to the connected workspace. A new tool link needs to be created with these settings:
